Prada - Challenger of Record (COR36)
We were brought in by the staging experts at V3 Tech to deliver infrastructure for the main stage at the 36th America's Cup Village. Built utilisng a 6m high truss system, reaching 7m elevation at the front, it had 36 tonne of built-in ballast to meet engineering requirements in the high wind zone of Te Wero Island.
The custom tensile roof and walls were designed to meet the specific brand requirements of Prada/ Challenger of Record with requirements to swap out signage for the different race events. MonstaVision installed the LED screen within the integrated LED wall of the structure. The backstage area was also designed to have a lockable dressing room and tech space.
The main stage environment had a full audience every race day at alert level one, with fans gathering with deck chairs and bean bags on the blue astroturf to cheer on the teams. The stage was also used to host the opening ceremony, award ceremony, as well as a New Year's Eve event at the Village.
